Commercial Section

The Commercial Section at the U.S. Embassy is a service provided by the Department of State . Information regarding U.S. commercial relations in the Middle East is available from the U.S.Department of Commerce Middle East/North Africa page.

The Commercial Section provides services to Bahraini and U.S. companies, including:

Commercial Counseling:

We welcome visits to the Commercial Section and Library at the U.S. Embassy. We can help U.S. and Bahraini companies locate firms whose products or services can support your business.

Commercial Research: Our Commercial Library offers many reference works which contain listings of American companies in all industries and disciplines. You are welcome to visit Saturday to Wednesday from 8am to 4pm. If you would like us to help you, please contact us at the above numbers.

Trade Opportunity Program (TOP): If you are in search of a particular product for a specific need, you can participate in our Trade Opportunities Program. Information which you provide on a Trade Opportunities Questionnaire form is sent through the District Offices of the U.S. Department of Commerce to suppliers of the equipment you are seeking. Product needs of many Bahraini companies have been met by this program. You are welcome to fill out the questionnaire and submit it by email.

Agent/Distributor Survey (A/DS): This can be requested by an American company seeking a representative in Bahrain. On request, we consider all relevant Bahraini firms. The American business is then given a list of candidates for consideration.

International Company Profile (ICP): Before an American company begins doing business with a Bahraini company, they will often ask us to do research on the company. The Commercial Section sends a confidential questionnaire to the Bahraini company. Please note: you are welcome to fill out the enclosed International Company Profile Confidential questionnaire in advance; we will create a file for you in our office which will be useful in referring U.S. businesses to your company.

We can send you monthly issues of Commercial News USA, a magazine devoted to American products which are new or have not been exported to this market before now.
